A friend about my age died before I turned 30. I went YOLO and focused on what it would be like to have little time left. There is a practice where you say 'one' as you breathe in, then 'less left.' My scrolling dropped to zero, my reading took off.
I rushed to finish what I was reading so I could pick up the next. Now I don't do this anymore. Different practices have converged into lifting weights soon after I wake up. Less time is spent reading, fewer books are finished, and less value is placed on it.
